Bottlebrush Grass

Elymus hystrix

A shade-tolerant grass that's a great addition to any woodland border or shady garden. Bottlebrush Grass's broad leaves green up early in spring and produces a silvery, bottlebrush-like seed stalk that looks great all winter. Can help fill in gaps in the garden but does not spread too aggressively. Young plants are vulnerable to deer, which tend to leave this plant alone once it is full-size.
