Common Boneset
Eupatorium perfoliatum
The nectar-filled white flowers of Common Boneset are a must-have for attracting Monarch Butterflies as its blooms are perfectly timed with fall Monarch migration. It's not uncommon to see multiple butterflies on each plant. Common Boneset's arching leaves stack neatly up and down the stem, giving the plant a unique architectural form. This wildflower is common in all kinds of wetlands and can handle all but the driest soils.
