Dense Blazing Star
Liatris spicata
Dense Blazing Star adds a touch of whimsy to the garden. In mid-summer, wands of fuzzy flower rise from tufts of attractive, grass-like foliage. The bright purple-pink flowers look like nothing else in the garden! Dense Blazing Star attract droves of pollinators, including bees, butterflies, and even hummingbirds! In very fertile soils, Dense Blazing Star can grow very tall stems which can flop if not well supported by neighboring plants or stakes.
