Foamflower
Tiarella cordifolia
Foamflower is celebrated for its frothy spikes of star-shaped, creamy white flowers that bloom in the spring. The flowers rise above a carpet of deeply lobed, often heart-shaped leaves that turn from green to striking shades of red and bronze in the fall. Foamflower spreads by runners, forming a dense mat that is excellent for suppressing weeds in shaded areas. This low-maintenance plant is ideal for underplanting in woodland settings or adding texture to shade gardens.
