Hairy Beardtongue
Penstemon hirsutus
Hairy Beardtongue is a showy bloomer that's adorned with dozens of white and purple, downturned flowers in spring. This is a versatile plant that can adapt to almost any garden. It does well in full sun and full shade, and grows in all but wet soils. Hairy Beardtongue is well-behaved and its lower leaves turn red and green and persist over winter, adding some cheerful color to the garden after the growing season ends.
