Rattlesnake Grass

Rattlesnake Grass, also sometimes called Rattlesnake Manna Grass, is a valuable addition to wetlands and rain gardens, forming dense clumps of slender, arching green leaves. In early summer, it produces graceful, open seed heads that rattle in the breeze, lending the plant its common name.

• Cut back old growth in late winter to early spring to maintain plant health and appearance.
• Prefers wet to moist, fertile soil; tolerant of heavy, clay-like soils.
• Divide every few years in early spring to rejuvenate clumps and propagate the plant.
