Shallow Sedge
Carex lurida
Shallow Sedge is a hardy wetland perennial that thrives in consistently moist or wet soils. Its spiky seed heads appear in late spring to early summer and provide food for birds and other wildlife. Shallow sedge is excellent for stabilizing soil in wet meadows, pond edges, and rain gardens, where its robust root system helps prevent erosion.
