Small Yellow Fox Sedge
Carex annectens
Small Yellow Fox Sedge, also known as Yellowfruit Sedge, is a graceful native sedge with distinctive yellowish-green fruits. Forming dense clumps, this sedge creates a lush carpet of foliage, providing habitat and food for wildlife in wetland gardens and riparian areas. In late spring to early summer, inconspicuous flowers emerge, giving way to clusters of yellowish-green fruits that persist into late summer. Thrives in moist to wet soils and is particularly well-suited for rain gardens, pond margins, and stream banks.

- Allow seedlings to naturalize in suitable wetland or riparian areas, or thin them out to control spread and maintain desired plant density.
