Soft Rush

Juncus effusus

Soft Rush resembles an ornamental grass, growing as a upright fountain of narrow green leaves that adds structure to the garden. Rushes are a group of plants that are normally found in wetlands, and Soft Rush is at home in a wet or moist garden. Interesting green seedheads start to form in early summer, changing from yellow to brown to tan over the season. Soft Rush can be aggressive in ideal, very wet conditions.
