Tall Cinquefoil
Drymocallis arguta
Tall Cinquefoil, also known as Prairie Cinquefoil or White Cinquefoil, is a robust and highly attractive perennial. Typically reaching 2 to 3 feet in height, this plant forms clumps of coarsely toothed, bright green leaves. From late spring to early summer, it produces tall, branching stems topped with clusters of small, creamy white flowers. Each flower consists of five rounded petals, drawing in bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. Tall Cinquefoil is well-suited for wildflower meadows, borders, and naturalized garden areas, where its height can add depth and its flowers can provide visual interest.

Maintenance Tips
- Prefers consistent moisture but is drought-tolerant once established; water regularly during dry spells.
- Deadhead spent blooms to encourage more flowering and prevent self-seeding, if desired.
- Thrives in well-drained, loamy or sandy soils but can adapt to various soil conditions.
- Apply a layer of organic mulch to conserve soil moisture and suppress weeds.
- Monitor for pests and diseases, though tall cinquefoil is generally low-maintenance and hardy. Ensure good air circulation to prevent fungal issues.
