Western Goldenrod
Euthamia occidentalis
Western Goldenrod is a tough, late-blooming perennial that adds cheerful color to the garden as other plants are fading. Although called a "goldenrod" it's actually a close cousin of the core goldenrod genus Solidago. Its upright stems, reaching up to 4 feet tall, are topped with clusters of small, bright yellow flowers from late summer into fall which attract a host of pollinators, particularly bees and butterflies.

- Thrives in well-drained soil; tolerant of sandy or clay soil conditions.
- Divide every 3-4 years in spring to maintain plant health and manage spread.
