Blue Mistflower
Conoclinium coelestinum
Blue Mistflower is a low-growing flower naturally found in riverbanks and wet meadows. It's quite happy in wet conditions and clay soils where other plants may struggle. From late summer into autumn, it's topped with fuzzy, electric lavender flowers. The flowers are particularly attractive to butterflies as the nectar produces beneficial compounds for some species. In ideal conditions, Blue Mistflower can be an enthusiastic spreader. While this makes it an excellent groundcover, you may want to consider controlling spread through deadheading.

Maintenance Tips
- Consider removing seedlings each year to control spread as needed
- As a relatively short-lived perennial, consider allowing a few seedlings to become established every couple of years for natural propagation
- Well established plants can be divided to control size and spread
