Coastal Gumweed
Grindelia stricta var. venulosa
Coastal Gumweed is a hardy perennial native to Pacific coastal regions. This variety stands out with its large, resinous, and bright yellow daisy-like flowers, which bloom from late summer to early fall. Reaches about 1 to 3 feet in height and features spatula-shaped leaves that are often sticky to the touch. Particularly valued for its ability to thrive in sandy soils and salt-spray conditions, making it an excellent choice for seaside gardens, coastal restoration projects, and areas requiring erosion control.
