Hairy Gumweed

Grindelia hirsutula

Hairy Gumweed, also called Hairy Gumplant, is a standout native perennial that thrives in dry, challenging environments while adding bright, cheerful color to the landscape. Hairy Gumweed forms clumps of coarse, green leaves covered in fine hairs, which offer protection from herbivores and drought. From mid-summer to early fall, it produces showy, daisy-like yellow flowers that are sticky to the touch, attracting bees and butterflies.
