Honewort
canadensis
Honewort is a perennial herb that thrives in the shaded, moist environments of woodland areas. Typically reaching heights of 1 to 3 feet, Honewort features compound leaves that are divided into three broad, toothed leaflets, giving it a full, bushy appearance. In mid to late summer, it produces small, white, umbrella-like flowers that are grouped in clusters. These blooms attract a variety of pollinators, including small bees and flies. The plant also produces aromatic seeds that can be used as a seasoning. Honewort is ideal for naturalized areas, shade gardens, or as a filler plant in understory compositions.
