Pearly Everlasting
Anaphalis margaritacea
Pearly Everlasting is a perennial herb that stands out for its unique, pearly white flower clusters and silvery, woolly foliage. This plant typically reaches heights of 1 to 3 feet and spreads to form dense clumps. The small, button-like flowers bloom from mid-summer to fall, remaining attractive even after they have dried, making them excellent for dried floral arrangements. Pearly everlasting is particularly valuable for attracting pollinators, especially butterflies, and serves as a host plant for the American Lady Butterfly. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it suitable for rock gardens, borders, and wildflower meadows where it can naturalize.

Maintenance Tips
- Drought-tolerant once established; water moderately during the first growing season to establish roots.
- Deadheading is not necessary unless a tidier appearance is desired.
- Prefers well-drained, sandy or loamy soils; tolerates poor soils.
- Apply a light layer of mulch to conserve moisture and suppress weeds without smothering the plant.
- Monitor for pests and diseases, but generally low-maintenance and hardy.
