Pennsylvania Sedge
Carex pensylvanica
Pennsylvania Sedge has fine foliage and a graceful, low-arching growth form, making it a popular choice for lawn replacement in shady spots. Over time, it can form a wispy, green mat which nicely complements a natural wildflower garden. Sedge foliage is a valuable food source for grasshoppers, and the seeds are consumed by a variety of birds.
