Plains Coreopsis
Plains Coreopsis is a colorful and easy-to-grow annual that brightens any garden space with its cheerful, two-toned flowers. It reaches about 1 to 3 feet in height and blooms profusely from early summer to fall, offering long-lasting color. The flowers, with their bright yellow petals and distinctive maroon centers, are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. This plant is ideal for wildflower meadows, borders, or as part of a pollinator garden. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and its drought tolerance makes it suitable for xeriscaping. Although found in gardens across most of the country, this species is technically only considered native across the Central Plains northwest into upper Rockies and Pacific Northwest.
