Purple Lovegrass

Purple Lovegrass produces distinctive, cloud-like seed heads in late summer, ranging from soft pink to reddish-purple. Its dense, clumping habit forms neat mounds of slender, green leaves that provide an attractive base for the airy, feathery plumes. This grass grows up to 2 feet in height and thrives in sunny locations with well-drained soil, making it an excellent choice for borders, rock gardens, and prairie plantings. As the seed heads mature, they turn a warm golden color, adding seasonal interest to the landscape and providing food for seed-eating birds.
