Roundleaf Ragwort
Roundleaf Ragwort (also called Round-Leaf Groundsel) is a robust and low-growing perennial that offers both ornamental appeal and ecological benefits. It typically reaches heights of only about 6 to 12 inches but spreads effectively to form dense mats of foliage. The plant's rounded, evergreen leaves remain attractive throughout the year, and in early to mid-spring, it produces bright yellow, daisy-like flowers on slender stalks. These blooms are highly attractive to a variety of pollinators, including bees and butterflies. Roundleaf Ragwort thrives in partial to full shade and prefers dry to moist, well-drained soils, making it ideal for underplanting in open woodland settings or adding to the front of a dappled border. Very similar to its cousin Golden Ragwort but likes life a little more on the dry side.
