Smooth Blue Aster

Smooth Blue Aster is a great addition to any garden and pairs well with other short and medium plants. Glossy green foliage looks good all season long. In late summer and early fall, smooth blue aster is absolutely covered in bluish-lavender flowers that attract many pollinators. A host plant for the Pearl Crescent Butterfly. Smooth Blue Aster is long lived and does not spread much compared to other Asters, though it is more susceptible to deer. May develop white spots some years, but this does not harm the plant.
