Spotted Beebalm
Monarda punctata
A unique beebalm relative with showy pink bracts. Its small flowers are easily accessed by short-tongued pollinators, including beneficial wasps. Beneficial wasps are small predators that prey on aphids and other small pest insects, and are not aggressive towards people. Flowers bloom for a few months and often during the first year. It's a short, tough plant that resists leaf disease and drought.
