White Goldenrod
Solidago bicolor
Goldenrods are an incredibly important group of plants. They feed over a hundred species of caterpillars, more than any other herbaceous plant in the eastern US. They also feed many species of pollinators at the end of the season when little else is blooming. Goldenrods are often vigorous growers, but White Goldenrod, also called Silverrod, is a good fit for a small, low-growing garden due to its short stature. This unique goldenrod sports cream-colored flowers, rather than the usual yellow.
