White Wild Indigo
Baptisia alba
White Wild Indigo is known for its shrubby upright growth habit and dramatic spikes of pea-like, creamy white flowers in late spring. These flowers make a bold statement against the plant's blue-green, trifoliate leaves. Following the floral display, ornamental, black seed pods develop, adding interest throughout the summer and into fall. An excellent plant for structure in perennial borders, it also provides substantial ecological benefits, supporting a variety of native pollinators and birds.
