Wild Petunia
Ruellia humilis
Wild Petunia stands apart from the familiar garden petunia, though both have similar trumpet-shaped blooms. Unlike its cultivated counterpart, Wild Petunia flourishes in tough conditions—tolerating poor, dry soil. With its hardy nature, it can spread, but this can be controlled by removing seedlings. Its short stature, around a foot tall, and dark green, hairy foliage make it an excellent complement to other short plants.
